The Team

Do you ever wonder what the person on the other end of the telephone looks like? Want to put a face to the name? Well, here you are. Below are images of the team members you can speak to and a little bit of text about each of them.

The team are more than happy to speak with you about any matters relating to Dewsbury West, and will at all times endeavor to put you in touch with, or provide the contact details for, the person or organisation you need to speak to.

Roger O'Doherty - Neighbourhood Manager

Philip Blakeley - Administrator

I joined the Pathfinder team in October 2005. Previously I had worked in Education Services at Stockport Council and before that at the Department for Work and Pensions in Leeds. My main duties are in supporting the team, making sure things in the office run smoothly and producing the quarterly Pathfinder Newsletter. If you have any questions at all relating to Pathfinder don't hesitate in giving me a call or send me an email.

Spencer Wilson - Funding Coordinator

My working life spans various roles, including finance, sales, training delivery, and assisting the skills development of employees in the private sector. I joined the Pathfinder team in October 2005, and am responsible for the monitoring of our funded projects, budgets, newsletter and website. I also lead on the Economic Well-Being Theme Group. If you want to talk to me about Pathfinder, just give me a ring.

Simon Whitworth - Community Safety Officer

Having been born and bred in Dewsbury, it is a real pleasure for me to now work in the area. I have worked in the retail trade and in the world of training. I joined Pathfinder in January 2006 as the Community Safety Officer and now have the opportunity to put what I have learnt over the years into practice, across the Dewsbury West area.

Michaela Howell - Neighbourhood Officer

I come from Bolton but have spent the last 17 years working with different communities in the South Wales Valleys and more recently in Bradford. I am really excited to be here in Dewsbury West working with you to strengthen your involvement in planning services and your influence over how they are delivered in your neighbourhood. Please contact me if you have any ideas or want to raise any issues.

Penny Hudson - Policy Officer

Having spent many years working in the voluntary sector and more recently as a Funding Officer with Kirklees Council, I joined the Pathfinder team at the end of January 2006. My role primarily is to look closely at the impact of Pathfinder activity on the local area, and to help incorporate learning from this and other areas into developing a robust strategy for tackling many of the issues facing disadvantaged neighbourhoods in our area and further a field.

Laila Ahmed - Community Support Worker
